Big Brother 7: Week 7 (Part One)

On Thursday's show Marcellas was evicted unanimously and George won the HOH competition in a tiebreaker with Danielle. Boogie found out what his special power is and chose not to use it. George nominated James and Erika right on the spot during the live show because it will be a double eviction week with the next evicted houseguest leaving on Sunday.

Back to the live feeds, everyone is freaking out because George has the power and they all think they can manipulate him. So far it seems that George is most loyal to Janelle and Howie but James is George's real target.

The POV competition was held late last night as George, Howie, Danielle, Erika, James and Will participated. James ended up winning the POV. The entire house is manipulating George to put up Janelle and they may have actually convinced him to do so. Will suggested that he go on the block because he has the votes to stay just to guarantee Erika's eviction. George is really traumatized by all this and isn't sure what to do.

Friday morning George came up to Janelle and Howie to offer them a deal. If they promise to vote out who George replaces James on the block then he will not put up Janelle. Howie and Janelle take the deal and don't even question who the person is who George wants out. Later on it gets out that Will was the person George had in mind but Will quickly declines. George feels he has no choice but to put Howie on the block and does so once James saves himself in the POV ceremony. By the end of Friday night Howie is evicted in a vote of 3-2 and Boogie is the new HOH.

Just to note that this is the fifth straight week where the original target has won veto and the replacement has been voted out of the house. Jase, Diane, Kaysar, Marcellas and Howie were all not on the block when nominations were announced but went out the door on eviction night while the targeted George, Boogie, Janelle, Danielle and James respectively remained in the house.

Big Brother 7: Week 6

In an episode that was shocking to none, Kaysar went home with a vote of 5-1 after James nullified Janelle's vote. The HOH competition was true false about the haunted houseguests they saw and Erika won. Looks like Janelle is out the door this week.

Not so fast! A lot of the houseguests complained of technical difficulties during the HOH competition and Big Brother decided to redo the HOH late last night. The winner is none other than Janelle. I kid you not!

Janelle nominated Danielle and Erika for eviction. Since the rest of the house is convinced that since Janelle can't play the veto they are planning to get Danielle off the block.

The new twist for this week is a coup d'etat which means the houseguest who gets it will win powers to overthrow the current HOH and make new nominations right on the spot. It will probably be revealed on Thursday so they won't have time to discuss and check with allies on who to vote for and will likely have to vote right then and there. Unfortunately any additional details were not given such as if the current HOH or veto holder can be nominated or not. Another part of the twist is that the houseguests do not know what the twist is just that there is one and they will be given clues through out the week as to what the special power is. Once the person thinks they know the answer, they go to the diary room and make a guess. The catch is they can only guess once and will not be told if they are correct or not until the reveal. Several houseguests have made their guesses in the Diary Room. Danielle, Erika, James and George think they all have the answer correct with Danielle especially convinced she won. What I don't understand is how a sheep is going to point them in the direction of the answer and I'd bet that those four who put in their guess already are incorrect.

Friday the food competition was held. This week the challenge was to great a "gourmet" style dish out of slop. They each had 30 minutes to complete this and some former Big Brother contestants were the judges. All the dishes passed except one (I beleive it was Danielle's) so they all won food except for Wednesday. They also won a BBQ grill as well.

Saturday was the veto challenge and staying on par for this season the targeted nominee Danielle won veto. There was some talk of James helping her win it and it sould like everyone else but Howie and Erika threw the veto challge to let Danielle win it. Talk now is of nominating Marcellas but George and Booige are being discussed as pawns. Janelle's intention is to get Erika out of the house.

The second coup d'etat clue is a giant needle and thread. Howie has now given his guess as well which was wolf in sheep's clothing. James' guess was pull the wool over someones' eyes and Danielle's was DNA. Assuming these are all incorrect, now only Janelle, Will, Boogie or Marcellas can win the coup.

In other news, Boogie and Erika are having a showmance. But now apparently Boogie doesn't care if Erika gets evicted. Whatever.

On Monday it seems that Boogie has won the coup d'etat since he guessed "you reap what you sew" after the third clue of a grim reaper came to visit the houseguests. That are Janelle unspurprisingly nominated Marcellas Monday as well.

58th Primetime Emmy Award Odds

There are odds for everything, or so I have found. I thought it was interesting to see the odds for the major categories in this year's Emmys. So courtesy of pinnaclesports.com here are the current odds to win a 2006 Emmy. Please note they are listed from most likely to win to least likely.

Best Comedy Series:
The Office +149
Arrested Development +219
Curb Your Enthusiasm +560
Scrubs +845
Two & Half Men +1150

Best Actor in a Comedy:
Steve Carell -103
Tony Shalhoub +365
Larry David +481
Charlie Sheen +1118
Kevin James +1200

Best Actress in a Comedy:
Jane Kaczmarek +165
Lisa Kudrow +268
Stockard Channing +374
Debra Messing +793
Julia Louise Dreyfus +926

Best Drama Series:
Greys Anatomy -162
House +650
24 +701
The West Wing +943
The Sopranos +1190

Best Actor in a Drama:
Denis Leary +110
Keifer Sutherland +379
Christopher Meloni +522
Peter Krause +622
Martin Sheen +1419

Best Actress in a Drama:
Kyra Sedgwick +287
Geena Davis +292
Allison Janney +394
Frances Conroy +428
Mariska Hargitay +490

My take on these odds: Looks like the drama actress category is the tightest with very similar odds. I don't expect either of the Sheens to win but I was surprised that each were at the bottom of their category. I hope Denis Leary wins for best drama actor but I wasn't expecting him to have the highest odds. I'm also a bit surprised that the Sopranos have the lowest odds for best drama and for Grey's Anatomy to have such high odds. All this makes me wonder why some of these people were nominated if the odds of them winning are so poor. Anyway, its all speculation until the winners are announced on August 27th.

Big Brother 7: Week 5

After a completely unsurprising 7-1 eviction for Diane we got treated to the annual endurance HOH competition. All the houseguests got to lounge on a huge spider web and get gross stuff sprayed on them in the process. There were 5 mystery eggs to the first 5 to give up in the competition: 2 of them were rotten, 1 had a slop free week pass, 1 had a eviction vote nullifier and the last egg had $10,000.

Will naturally was the first houseguest to get off the web and chose a rotten egg. Janelle was instructed that after about 90 minutes that the remaining HOH contest participants had to crawl under the web and hang from the bottom using only arms and legs. People started dropping out very quickly after that, James being the second one out and chose the eviction vote nullification power. Then Kaysar and Boogie came off about the same time. Boogie got the $10,000 and Kaysar chose the last rotten egg. Marcellas came off a little bit later and obtained the slop pass. George fell shortly after leaving Erika, Howie and Danielle. It was Danielle who wanted the HOH the most begging both Howie and Erika to get HOH. Howie fell and Erika gave it to Danielle. Less than 2 1/2 hours after the HOH competition began, Danielle walked away the victor.

On Friday Danielle nominated Janelle and James with the intention of getting Janelle out of the house. James wasn't too upset about the nomination but wasn't exactly sure of Danielle's plan. Danielle mentioned she wanted to make it look like her and James do not have an alliance but the house isn't buying it. Chill Town wants to flip the script to get James out but are not sure they have the numbers.

Saturday was the veto competition that was another how bad do you want it type of games that involved the food competition as well. Janelle, James, Danielle, Marcellas, Will and Boogie competed in the veto this week. It seems that there was a lot of hot sand and an elaborate set up in the backyard for the veto. The game appeared to work in a way that they would earn points for answering questions and giving up something (food, running water, beds) and could use points to buy things (trip, phone call, party). In the end Janelle has the most points accumulated and won the veto. This throws a huge wrench in Danielle's plan as she is very unhappy Janelle won the veto. Danielle will likely put up Kaysar but Boogie is begging her to put up Marcellas. Kaysar would likely get voted out if he went up but there might be numbers to evict James against Kaysar. There was a lot of wheeling and dealing in the veto competition so it will take a while to sort out who agreed to what but Danielle will have to be in solitary confinement for 24 hours as one of the things she agreed to.

Monday was the veto ceremony and Danielle did what was expected. When Janelle took herself off the block with the veto Danielle nominated Kaysar in her place. It looks very likely that Kaysar will be voted out of the house. Chill Town and the remaining non nominated S6 alliance want to try go get James out but since he has the one vote nullifyer the vote would need to be 5-2 in Kaysar's favor since Danielle would break the tie and save James.

Franco wonders where that is to and Keela says its her new school in France. Franco is upset that he is not going to see Keela again but she says that she will try her best and she loves him. Franco says he loves her too as he watches them walk away.

Eric offers to buy him the same jacket but Stanley wants that particular one. Eric changes the subject and asks how Lucy and him met. Stanley explains that Lucy almost ran him over with her car. The doctor then says that he is not happy with Eric's test results and he should see his own doctor to go over them. Eric wants to know right away what the problem is especially if he needs heart surgery again. As Eric takes a call from Lucy about picking the boys up from school, the doctor implies that surgery is not the issue.

Project Runway 3 Spoilers

Project Runway usually keeps a pretty good lid on spoilers until fashion week when it becomes common knowledge who the final 4 are. However, there are a few tidbits to share on the interesting third season of Project Runway.

First, one of the designers is getting kicked off the show for violating the rules. This designer is none other than Keith, our men's wear designer. The reason for the booting is not entirely clear but most of the buzz is surrounding stolen/copies sketches or smuggled fashion books.

Second, there is evidence to suggest that Milan will be back in one way or another. Milan could be the replacement after Keith's departure or he could be chosen by one of the final 3 as a helping hand on their finale collection.

Also, there is word that the Barbie designer Robert will make it to the final 3. Many of you may have heard that one of the models, Jia Santos, was seriously hurt in a bus accident on her way to the final challenge thus possibly identifying her final 3 designer. Unfortunately Jia's current designer is basket hat Vincent who is unlikely to make it that far.

Izzy and Franco are at the hospital as the doctor is updating them on Jerry's condition. Jerry had a massive stroke and may have suffered some brain damage which will lead to some paralysis and speech impediments. The doctor urges them to find Jerry's son to sign some papers and make decisions.

Lou is helping Tommy choose a casket for Johnny. The funeral director tries to talk them into the high end model but they settle on the middle of the road option. Lou and Tommy get then get the news about Jerry.

Teddy is having a visit with his wife Ellie when she gets very upset about something and begins crying. Teddy isn't sure what to make of the situation and isn't sure this is what he bargained for. Later on Teddy is beginning to realize he does not have the ideal situation and is sick of being confined.

At the police station Luis is explaining to Tommy and Lou that they caught the guy who shot Johnny. Apparently the guy confessed he was paid to shoot Johnny but the police have not determined by who or why. Luis tells Tommy that he can have a few minutes alone with the guy and do whatever he wants because nobody will be around and there will be no videotape or anything.

Tommy goes into the interrogation room and finds a young black kid. The kid is scared because he knows what's coming to him. Tommy instead asks the kid if he has any brothers. The kid says yes and Tommy says that the kid should know how he feels. That growing up Tommy and Johnny were always paired together because they were close in age and they always fought but he had respect for Johnny until he started sleeping with his wife. The kid speaks up and wants to know when he is getting beat up. Tommy says that he will get taken advantage of enough in prison so there is no need for anything extra. Lou and Luis are listening to all of this and are dumbfounded.

Tommy, Lou and Janet are at the funeral home trying to decide if they want an open or closed casket ceremony. Janet is very upset but she wants comfort in Tommy. Meanwhile Lou excuses himself and goes outside. Lou talks to his nun lady friend about getting a boat and escaping the world because she does not want to experience the backlash of leaving the convent.

Back at the hospital Jerry's son Peter has arrived. Jerry is awake now and he is trying to write on a notepad and having a difficult time. Jerry can also speak but his speech is slow and slurred.

Johnny's funeral is outside and hundreds of people are in attendance. During the ceremony Janet, Tommy and Maggie notice someone in the crowd, they all begin signing to her. That person is Rosemarie, the estranged sister of Tommy who is hearing imparts. After the ceremony, they all the Gavins approach Rosemarie and talk to her in sign language. Sean joins the signing conversation and Maggie is impressed. Maggie explains to Sean that Rosemarie was exiled as a child to a boarding school for the deaf as her parents wanted to shun the child that was different. Maggie and Tommy were the only ones who cared enough to learn sign language and keep in touch with Rosemarie though the years.

Maggie then spots a priest who is leaving the cemetery and has a brilliant idea. Maggie approaches the priest and asks him to marry her and Sean right then and there. At first the priest objects but once $500 is offered he becomes much more agreeable. Maggie then yells for all the departing people to come back and tells Sean to steal some flowers from a casket.

Everyone has returned for the wedding ceremony. Sean is really nervous and stumbles over his words then starts sneezing because of the flowers and throws out his back. Maggie sees this is deteriorating rather fast and tells the priest to speed it up. Maggie and Sean are pronounced man and wife as the crowd celebrates.

Later on at Tommy's place, a reception party is going on strong. Janet is really upset that people can be partying on the day of Johnny's funeral. Tommy tells Janet this is what the Gavins do so just to enjoy what they have. Tommy and Janet share a tender moment as he kisses her on the forehead as Janet goes to dance with Katy. Rosemarie then approaches Tommy and they talk about how Rosemarie is doing. She is really happy and gives Tommy some advice about happiness. Tommy says he appreciates the words but Rosemarie says that she got that same advice from Tommy years ago. Rosemarie leaves Tommy alone to contemplate this.

Big Brother 7: Week 4

On Thursday Jase was evicted in a surprising unanimous vote and kept referring to being back doored. Unfortunately Jase got the definition wrong this time since he was not James' original eviction plans and since the veto players are chosen at random nobody can plan for a true backdoor. Jase only has himself to blame for not choosing a side and becoming the first "floater" to get thrown out.

Janelle won head of household in a game that should have allowed the rest of the house to guarantee none of the season 6 alliance members got HOH. The house sealed their fate for another week of tip toeing around S6 when both Will and Erika chose not to get rid of Janelle during the challenge.

The house had an upexpected late night food challenge on Thursday with all of the S6 getting food for the week. Leaving people such as Diane, Boogie and Will on slop. Will threatened to take a penalty nomination and eat regular food since he claims he does not care about getting evicted anyhow but I think the producers notified Will of the legal ramifications of that decision and Will backed off.

Janelle ended up nominating Boogie and Erika. The idea is that Boogie will get evicted but S6 doesn't mind if Erika ends up going. Janelle did not take Will's deal to keep him and Boogie safe and merge S6 and Chill Town in the process. The whole house is paranoid that one of the houseguests will get to come back into the game and it will be Jase on a rampage. There is no reason to believe this will happen and the houseguests are getting too caught up in the "what if" game.

All Friday night the houseguests kept getting woken bothered every 15 minutes by wake up calls. Most of them were from fans but Alison and Diane's mom recorded a message as well. The veto competition was held at 5am Big Brother time after the veto players of Janelle, Will, Boogie, Howie, Erika and Diane were chosen Friday night. The 6 veto players were told to be ready at any time during the night and would have one minute to get to the back door. Supposedly it was some sort of mental competition that lack of sleep was going to become a detriment but in the end it was Boogie who on the veto. However in doing so Boogie cut his foot and was required to leave and go to the hospital for stitches. Boogie came back to the house shortly after. Janelle now needs to decide who she is going to put up in Boogie's place. Her alliance is pressuring her to put up Will but she is thinking of putting up Diane. Janelle will probably get at least a day to think about it but at this accelerated pace there might be come twist coming this week.

Sunday there was a luxury competition where the houseguests were asked to participate in a pit crew challenge. The prize was a screening of Talladega Nights in the HOH room that was converted into a movie theater for the night. The winning team consisted of Janelle, James, Will, Diane, Danielle and Boogie. The losing team got a deck of cards and played games while the movie was shown.

Janelle was approached by Will and Boogie again to nominate floaters and in return will offer protection to Janelle and some of her alliance. Janelle thought long and hard and eventually decided to put up Diane in Boogie's place because she is more of a threat to Janelle. James caught wind of this and was very upset that Janelle made the decision based on what was best for her and not the foursome because if that was how they were playing then he would have kept Jase. Danielle is getting really excited about this and thinks that she has a deal to the final 4 with James and Chill Town. Supposedly the 4 have agreed to put up Janelle if they get HOH next week but everyone's true intentions are not known at this point.

Voting that was supposed to be done on Wednesday became delayed and will most likely happen on the live show. The houseguests know a twist is coming but think it means someone extra will be added to the house or brought back. The rumor is that all the voting delay means is that they have all made it to sequester as there will be a jury of 9 instead of the usual 7. The plan at the moment is to vote out Diane but Chill Town wants to flip the script and get Erika out. At this point the house pretty much does not care. Expect to see Diane get evicted live on Thursday.

Huge One Tree Hill Spoilers

Episodic spoilers for One Tree Hill can pop up very infrequently but to my surprise I have some goods to share about the fourth season. In the accident, one person will not survive and it looks like Uncle Cooper is the one. Rachel is supposed to have suffered a miscarriage in the accident possibly answering the pregnancy test in the purse question from the finale. Karen is indeed pregnant and will have a baby girl. Chris Keller will return but nothing is known yet about what his role will be. As I mentioned before Peyton will get a new romantic interest named Derek. I also hear that there are rough seas ahead for Brooke and Lucas but Nathan and Haley will have an easier road. Haley's big secret is that she got into Duke. Finally, Mouth is supposed to be the one who wrote "murderer" on Dan's wall because he was a secret witness to the what happened in the school. Sounds like a juicy season already!
